It’s the trained eye of the videographer that determines the emotional impact of a video. It’s the choice of what is shot and how it’s shot. It takes a keen eye that never stops searching for video-worthy opportunities.
Amazing clarity and sensitive composition make this a one-of-a-kind video, but not just a video…a family heirloom. Why? Some of the family is gone by now. The kids are older and into other things, but the power of the video to create deep feelings and memories is stronger than ever and will endure for generations. The images in Itai’s video were all taken from the live video filmed on that day. They’re stunningly beautiful and crystal clear.
The rehearsal took place at Congregation Ner Tamid in Palos Verdes, CA. Some of the images were posed by the photographer, and they’re beautiful! but the truly unique ones were candid shots from around the room captured by the videographer as people were watching, reacting, or simply finding something to do to entertain themselves while awaiting their turn.
It’s the unplanned, un-posed moments that give this montage its power, and, the opportunites are unlimited! In the time it takes a photographer to arrange one posed photo, the videographer can capture five candid shots while no one knew it was being done!
Itai’s parents created the personal commentary that accompanies the images, and the editor selected the music with the family’s approval. The three elements taken together, the images, the music and the narrative are powerful! See if you don’t agree as you watch.
