Uncensored and Off The Hook Wedding Video Testimonial – Cherrie & Derrick

This Couple is wonderfully uninhibited and hilariously out of control in this easy-to watch video highlight!

Incredible reflections on Cherrie & Derrick’s recent wedding video in the couple’s own words and inimitable style. Cherrie & Derrick look back and laugh with Los Angeles wedding videographer, Marc Gold, on their recent wedding video. Unbelievably funny. Derrick is calm, quiet, composed. Cherrie is unchained and says it exactly as she sees it. You’re going to love this couple as much as I do. Guaranteed. I taped the couple at their home in Carson, Ca and spent one of the most enjoyable evenings of my life recording their thoughts and wedding day memories. Enjoy!

Strictly For Brides – “Should I Have Guests Speak on my Wedding Video?”

“Strictly for Brides” is a series of tips and videos designed to help couples plan their wedding videography.

TIP: If you like the idea of having guests, including the kids, leave congratulatory messages for you on your wedding video, select a videographer with the right equipment to acquire good audio so that the messages can be heard over the crowd or even loud music. Minimum equipment: hand-held wireless mic for guests to speak into. A friendly demeanor, a bit of charm, and good people skills helps guests feel comfortable with the videographer who can also guide them through the interview with appropriate questions. Experience counts!

TIP: A good editor will be able to weave guests’ messages into the video creating some very memorable scenes for you. (Our video gallery has several examples of this video style).

With parents cheering on the sidelines, veteran L.A. videographer, Marc Gold, directs a memorable shot of the kids (and adults) for bride and groom Derrick and Cherrie James at their Westin LAX Hotel wedding reception. Watch the 1 min. behind-the-scenes clip showing how the shot is produced (permission to publish the children’s images has been granted by their parents):

Tip: A videographer who works equally well with children and adults might be just the ticket for your wedding video if you’re planning to have kids at your event just because there’s nothing quite as entertaining as looking back 10 and 20 years at your family and friends when they were very young.

Los Angeles Wedding Videographer Re-discovers Long Lost Clients – Hits the Lottery!

We All Suddenly Realized That I Was Their Wedding Videographer 15 Years Ago!  Of the many different kinds of events that I enjoy recording, live theater, dance and ballet are high on my list simply for the technical challenge they present. Fortunately, there are a lot of opportunities in Los Angeles for a videographer like myself to record those kinds of productions that pop up in local theatres in L.A. and the South Bay throughout the year. My unexpected re-acquaintance with former wedding clients, Summer Cacciagioni, artistic director of Encore Entertainers in Redondo Beach, CA, and her husband, Marcello, resulted in a summer-full of marvelous experiences recording six of their shows at the Warner Grand in San Pedro and Redondo Union High School auditorium. An enjoyable excerpt from “Shrek The Musical” follows below:

I can say for a fact that reconnecting with Summer and Marcello definitely qualifies as a genuine OMG moment. When I responded to their search for a local videographer to record their upcoming shows in Redondo Beach, San Pedro and Palos Verdes, and met with them at their office in Torrance to discuss the job, it wasn’t long before we all realized that I was their wedding videographer 15 years ago!

They agreed to have me record performances of “Shrek The Musical”, “Oliver,” and “Hairspray”, most of which were three camera productions. I brought in colleagues Lon Andre from West Los Angeles, and Chris Babbit from Laguna Niguel to help with the camera work. The finished productions were fabulous and turned around in record time much to Summer’s satisfaction after having been made to wait up to 18 months by their former video production company. Happy client + happy videographer = more shows coming in January and February.
